ABOUT LORA
When I think of it all, I wonder how I can crowd all my joy into one short life.
-Elinor Pruitt Stewart
I grew up in Utah, but because of my father's profession (university professor), my family traveled a LOT. Due, in large part, to these travels, I have a deep love for travel, art, culture, and adventure. School has always been a love and passion of mine as well. I love to learn, and I love to make new friends. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and days after graduating moved out to California to teach first grade. Not only did I have a great teaching experience, but I also met John. We got married during my second year of teaching. I taught for 5 years until Maya came along. I am now a happy homemaker. Some of my interests include blogging, photography, scrapbooking, reading, and organizing.
In 2018 I learned how to make delicious artisan bread in a dutch oven and grill meat on my new orange grill (orange is my favorite color). I also takes turns heading up toddler roundup, being a room mom to Maya’s class, and teaching preschool to Mars, Mal, and their "best fwend" in the neighborhood. I enjoy spending time in the garden and doing yard work, in general. This summer I used some of my latent creative energy to create a Secret Agent reading program for Maya and some neighbor kids. One of the highlights from the year for her was going to Seattle with her sweetheart and taking a trip to the Shakespeare Festival with a couple of good friends!
